Ian van der Wolde is a Melbourne-based commercial photographer and the owner of Altered Images Photography, a studio he established in 1986. With nearly four decades of professional experience, Ian has built a reputation as one of Australia’s leading commercial photographers, working across advertising, corporate, architectural, industrial, product, fashion, food, and aerial photography.
A multi-award-winning photographer, Ian has been recognised throughout his career for both his creative vision and technical excellence. He holds the prestigious designation of Master of Photography IV (4 Gold Bars) and has been awarded both Fellow and Honorary Fellow status by the former Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), recognising his significant contribution to the photographic industry.
Ian has received numerous industry accolades, including being named AIPP Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year in both 2012 and 2017, as well as AIPP Victorian Illustrative Photographer of the Year in 2012. As an early adopter and pioneer of digital capture, colour management, and fine art printing, he has remained at the forefront of photographic innovation throughout his career.
